GFS progeny testing

We are very committed to our progeny testing. This allows us to select the boars and increases accuracy of the breeding values.

The terminal genetics are selected based on the breeding values for

fattening and slaughter performance, with boars classified into performance classes
Congenital anomalies
Litter quality
Boar taint*
Piglet vitality*

*for German Piétrain

The fertility of the boars is verified based on fertility data from the test operations and monitoring data (e.g. using sow planners).
